This report is mainly to discuss about the innovative lesson plan which was taken at St. Goretti’s H S S, Nalanchira as part of the internship in the fourth semester. Innovative work is defined as “the process of making changes to something established by introducing “something new”. Innovative work helps a teacher to teach lesson easily. The role of innovative work is very important in English language teaching. In order to teach a lesson innovatively, the teacher must use a lot of pictures, games, models and songs. In teaching learning process the role of innovative work is very important. it makes the class interesting and effective. So, in English language education the role of innovative work is very helpful and pivotal. The present innovative work is an attempt to make a textbook by dramatizing the events in the lesson ‘The Merchant of Venice’ by William Shakespeare.
This type of lesson plan evoke the learner in many aspect .it is through innovative lesson template people will get a good knowledge of the content and they develop a better retention power. Without innovation students will lose attention and teaching will lose its value. As teachers we need to make our students passionate and eager to learn more and that’s where innovation interferes.

PURPOSE OF THE WORK
As part of teaching practice session two, I opted an innovative work based on the chapter ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ by Oscar Wilde. I prepared an innovative model of a story album. This innovative model is prepared to cater the needs of all the learners. This lesson has enough scope to promote student’s creative writing.
PLAN OF ACTION
An innovative lesson plan was prepared on the chapter ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ from the unit IV (Flowers and Showers). Before starting the lesson the innovative model was prepared before the students. Innovative model was prepared based on the story line. All the characters in the story were included in that working model. It was colorfully and gracefully arranged.
METHODOLOGY
One of the biggest challenges that teachers face is to find ways to succeed with different types of learners, not just those with whom they have natural affinity. As teachers, we have to use different kind of teaching methodologies and strategies that promote the maximum degree of success for students of all types. There are different kinds of learners such as visual, auditory, reading/ writing and kinesthetic, Tactile and global. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching.
§ Visual learners learn best by looking. They respond well to colourful pictures and images
§ Auditory learners learn best by listening. They work well with spoken instructions and learn quickly by listening to stories and songs.
§ Tactile learners learn physically by touching and manipulating objects.
§ Kinesthetic learners learn physically moving
§ Analytic learners focus on the details of language global learners focus on the whole picture and do not care so much about specific details.
INNOVATIVE MODEL (The Nightingale and the Rose)
So in this innovative work, all the learners have enough scope. It is designed and prepared to cater the needs of all the learners. They can easily grasp the story and message from the image. In the initial stage teachers gives a short description about the story. After the necessary instruction teachers displays the innovative model to transact the content effectively. So it is appealing to all the learners and at the same time it invites the attention and taste of all the learners. Each type of learner has specific role to perform. Then teachers exhibits catching dialogue from the story and ask them to identify the character. It creates interest to learners. It helps them to have better retention.
